IPL 2023, Home Away Format: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most entertaining series in the world, which is eagerly awaited by the audience throughout the year. This year’s IPL 2022 (IPL 22) was won by Gujarat Titans under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. Now BCCI President Sourav Gangu has made a new announcement regarding the upcoming IPL 2023 tournament and Times of India has informed about this. In the last two years, the IPL did not happen as usual due to Corona, but now the IPL will be done again in the old way. As a result, each team will now play its seven matches at home and the remaining seven matches at the opponent’s home ground.

What did Ganguly say?

According to a report in Times of India, “The upcoming season of the men’s IPL will be in the home and away format as before. All the ten teams are going to play their 7 matches at home and the remaining 7 matches at the home ground of the opponent team. Also, BCCI is currently working on the much awaited women’s IPL. We are likely to start the first season next year.”

IPL banned due to Corona

Two years ago i.e. before IPL 2020, there was a crisis of Corona, due to which IPL 2020 was organized in the UAE in September. After the IPL 2021 tournament, the effect of Corona decreased, so the tournament started in India. But again the threat of corona (Corona outbreak) increased, the last matches were held in UAE. The IPL 2022 tournament was then held in India, but the matches were played in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Ahmedabad. But now the matches of IPL 2023 will be in the same IPL format as before. As a result, each team will now play its seven matches at home and the remaining seven matches at the opponent’s home ground.
